We commission slowly, on purpose.

TINCT runs 8–10 commissions a month across seven pillars and six signature formats. If you have a pitch we haven't asked for yet, here's how to send it.

What we commission

Reported features, essays, scene reports, long-form profiles, and the occasional photo-led dispatch. We are not a news site. If you have a 48-hour hook, we are not the right magazine.

We care more about specific place than sweeping narrative. Bucharest over Eastern Europe. Tijuana over Mexico. The mill outside Łódź over the textile industry.

How to pitch

A pitch is 150 words, plus one sentence on why you of all people should write it. We do not need a headline. We need the first three sentences of the piece.

  • Subject line format: PITCH · [PILLAR] · [WORKING TITLE]
  • Reply time: 7–14 days.
  • We read every pitch. We answer most. If you don't hear back in three weeks, follow up — we probably lost it.

Pick a format

Your pitch must fit one of the six Signature Series. If it fits two, pick the more honest one.

Rates & rights

We pay €0.30–0.50/word for commissions, on publication. First publication rights; the piece is yours again after 60 days. We credit photographers and editors in the standalone credits block.

What we won't run

  • "X things you need to know about Y." Ever.
  • Press release-adjacent launches — we are not a PR channel.
  • "Gen Z is…" generational takes. Write about people, not cohorts.
  • Pitches without specific place, specific person, specific stake.
